Who should attend?
This seminar is intended for personnel from various industries
and disciplines, such as piping, instrument, process,
safety, and maintenance engineers as well as plant managers
and technical procurement. This is a four-hour seminar
and will be held at your facility. The presentation is
free of charge for all participants.
What is severe service?
Of the hundreds, or even thousands, of valves in the
plant, few stay uppermost on the repair records and the
minds of the operating crews. Those few valves and actuators all fall into the category
that has become known as "severe service." These
valves are those that are subjected to tough operating
conditions either all or part of the time. Although few
in number, they pose challenges to maintenance and operation.
Eliminating problems in severe service valves offers one
of the quickest and most effective means of improving
plant efficiency.
Do I need a severe service valve?
In most cases, problems are caused by the misapplication
of general service valves in severe service duty. In severe
operating conditions, such misapplications affect efficiency
to a greater degree, when compared to the entire valve
population. While plant efficiency losses due to individual
valve applications may be small, together they can add
up to a significant problem.
How can I learn more?
CCI offers a seminar on severe service
control valves free of charge. This seminar addresses
the problems associated with severe service valves and
provides guidelines for specification and procurement.
The knowledge gained in this seminar will also assist
plant personnel in determining if hardware failures are
related to the improper application of a particular valve.
