Latest Release
System Reliability Improvement Program - Turbine Bypass Systems

As power utilities have become deregulated, plants originally designed for base load operation now find themselves required to operate on flexible basis with load variations. This can cause severe thermal stresses on turbine bypass systems, attemperators and piping systems in the plant. If not addressed early on, they can lead to potential for serious problems.

  • Catastrophic failures; i.e., those that render a power station inoperable, such as failure of tubes, cracking of pipes, header and valves, water hammer, etc.
  • Operating limitations, such as those that require operation to limit ramp rate, minimum sustainable load and such parameters that penalize the profitability of a unit.
  • Reliability issues, such as remaining life of critical components and reduced safety of the plant.

The CCI System Reliability Improvement Program addresses the above concerns of thermal stress on turbine bypass systems and attemperators.

This program includes a presentation at your site, thorough system review including monitoring system operation and finally a comprehensive report with findings, root cause analysis and recommendations on system improvement and preventative maintenance program.
